About Us
Our story
Urban Wheelz started at the height of COVID. After a quick trip to Brisbane, we came home and realised Cairns didn't offer much in the way of alternative transport. E-scooters, skateboards and skates are a fun, practical and affordable way to get around our town, so we set out to change that.
We started small, with pop-up shops in Cairns Central and stalls at local events. On 14 June 2021 we officially opened our retail store and workshop on Mulgrave Road, and we've been helping Cairns get around on wheels ever since.
Family run, locally staffed
Urban Wheelz is a family run business with a local team. We ride the same streets and paths you do, so we can give you honest advice on what suits your riding, your budget and Cairns conditions.
