How It Compares
The GT3 competes directly with the Dualtron Thunder 2 and Kaabo Wolf King GT Pro. Compared to the Dualtron Thunder 2, the GT3 offers Segway’s proprietary SegRide stability system, Apple Find My integration, and built-in navigation — features the Dualtron lacks. The GT3’s 11" self-sealing tyres also eliminate the puncture risk that plagues high-speed riding on standard pneumatics. If you’re comparing within the Segway range, the GT3 is a significant step up from the MAX G3 — more than double the motor power, higher top speed, and a much larger battery.
Who Is This For?
- Performance riders who want the fastest, most powerful scooter Segway makes
- Heavier riders up to 150 kg who need a scooter built for real-world loads at speed
- Long-distance riders covering 30–60 km in a single session who can’t afford range anxiety
- Tech-forward riders who want navigation, auto-lock, and Apple Find My in one package
- Private property and track riders who want to experience the full 50 km/h capability legally
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Segway GT3 road-legal in Australia?
The GT3’s top speed of 50 km/h exceeds the 25 km/h limit for shared paths in most Australian states. It can be ridden at 25 km/h in road-legal mode on permitted paths, but the full 50 km/h capability is for private property use only. Check your local state regulations.
What is SegRide?
SegRide is Segway’s proprietary stability enhancement system that actively adjusts handling geometry for better control at high speeds, through sharp turns, and on slippery surfaces. It’s similar in concept to electronic stability control on a car.
What does Segway Airlock do?
Segway Airlock automatically locks the scooter when you walk away and unlocks it when you approach — using Bluetooth proximity detection. No need to manually lock/unlock via the app.
How do the self-sealing tyres work?
The 11" tyres contain a self-sealing jelly layer that automatically seals small punctures (nails, screws) while riding. This significantly reduces the risk of a flat tyre at high speed.
What’s the real-world range at speed?
Segway rates the GT3 at 73.4 km using SegRange eco mode. In Sport or Race mode at higher speeds, expect 40–55 km depending on rider weight and terrain.
